I’ve been busy scouting locations for some Winter paddling expeditions and have teamed up with a great guy called Jorge Echavarri to run guided trips on the East Coast of Fuerteventura, based at Corralejo. The coastline offers sand dunes, volcanic lava and stunning cliffs.This is a fantastic location for the ‘intromediate’ paddler, with opportunities to tackle some surf conditions and improve paddling skills – together with great hospitality, food and drink.
February is considered the best month for paddling this area with temperatures averaging 21 degrees, winds at their calmest (around BF3), around 7 hours of sun daily and minimal rain.
The dates for this trip are:
Sunday 25th February to Sunday 4th March
Paddling will be from Monday 26th February to Saturday 3rd March
A crossing to Lanzarote and a 2 day overnight camping trip may be possible, again dependant on weather conditions and group preference
Price per person is £765 and includes:
Transfers to and from the airport in Fuerteventura to Corralejo
Internal transfer if overnight expedition is undertaken
Hire of plastic boat (composite boats available at €170 extra) (Aries and Cetus)
Hire of spraydeck (P&H neoprene), paddle (Celtic Carbon blade), BA (Palm)
Hire of safety equipment
Hire of camping stove, gas, pans
Myself as guide
Twin or triple share accommodation in the Waverider Surf School in Corralejo from Sunday night through to Saturday night https://waveridersurfschool.com/accommodation
Continental breakfast Monday to Friday
ALL food and drink is EXTRA (with the exception of breakfasts as above)
Camping equipment can be provided on request. More details once participants are confirmed.
Outbound flight EZY8535 with Easyjet from LGW to FUE leaves at 7:10 and arrives at 11:30
and inbound EZY8536 leaves FUE at 12:10 and arrives LGW at 16:25
You are welcome to book alternative flights if they are more convenient for you.
Early booking on this trip and flights are advised, as flights to Fuerteventura are limited as are trip places!
A deposit of £150 will secure your place (deposit only refunded in the event of a full trip and a replacement being found)
